Union Home Minister Medal for Excellence in Investigation 2022

The award is given to the members of Central Investigating Agencies, State/UTs Police Forces and Investigating agencies to recognize of  the outstanding service in Investigation.

Eligibility

1. Applicable to the rank of Head Constable to SP rank officer who are involved in investigation.

2. Officer should be clear from vigilance point of view.

3. Officer who has received the medal once may not be awarded again.

4. There should not be any stricture or adverse comment in a court of law in a case investigated by the nominated officer.

5. Out of the last 5 APAR grading of nominee, minimum 3 should be Outstanding/Very Good. There should not be any adverse entry in the last 5 years.

Who can nominate ?

State Government/UT Administration and Central Investigation agencies

Selection Process

1. All recommendations received from State/UTs are being examined by a Sub Committee, in MHA.

2. A report regarding integrity and professionalisms being taken from IB & CBI.

3. A Selection Committee in MHA headed by SS/AS (in charge of Police-I) would screen all the nominations and recommend for award.

4. Final approval will be given by Home Minister

Names of awardees announced on 12th August every year.
