Union Home Minister Special Operation Medal 2022

To recognize only those operations, which have degree of planning high significance for the security of the country/State/UT and have significant impact on security of large sections of the society. The award shall be considered for Special Operation in the areas such as counter terrorism, border action, arms control, prevention of narcotics smuggling and rescue operations.

Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), have brought under consideration of the said prestigious award under the area "Prevention of narcotics smuggling". 

Eligibility

1. Only successful conduct of operation of those operation which have high degree of planning, high significance for the security of the country/State/UT and significant impact on security of large sections of the society and as validated by the committee of MHA.

2. An officer who has received the medal in a year, may not be nominated subsequently for 2 years.

3. Clear from vigilance/discipline/Judicial angle etc.

4. Decoration has already been conferred, may be recorded by a Bar. For every such additional act an additional Bar may be added.

Who can nominate ?

Selection Committee

Selection Process

1. Head of organization will constitute a committee senior level officer for screening of nomination at the organization/state level to select the nominees and send to MHA.

2. A Committee in MHA will screen all the nomination and recommended for award.

3. Union Home Minister is competent to approve the final list of awardee.

Ceremony Details

This medal will be announced on 31st October of each year.
